The Slinger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slinger
Yes. These are VERY good. I hadn’t heard of this dish until my most recent visit to St. Louis. My friends and I were at a place called City Diner. If you are ever in the St. Louis area, visit them. As I looked over the menu trying to decide if I wanted breakfast or lunch (because it was the afternoon) I saw the most appealing item ever. Even as I read the description of the dish I just knew it was my destiny to eat this food.
This delectable dish consisted of layers (from top to bottom) of cheese, chili, eggs, sausage patties, potatoes. How can you turn that down? Yes, it also came with gravy and toast if I remember correctly.
Next time you’re out at any diner check their menu for the “Slinger”. You won’t regret it.
